Book 6 of the Mengcheng Dreaming series and the Third Camp Nanowrimo Spin-Off. This novella takes place between the events in "Rock Dog: The Songs We Sing" and "Zitti e Buoni: A Rock Dog-Spycies Story". The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a two-month lockdown in Rock Dog's hometown of Mengcheng, but nothing, not even a pandemic, can not stop them from hosting their first ever free online concert from their concert. Rated PG for some mature language and released in celebration of the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest, to take place in Rotterdam, The Netherlands on 18, 20 and 22 May 2021. (Rock Dog, Arctic Dogs, Sing and Arlo the Alligator Boy, as well as all the songs inside this fanfic are properties of the respective distributors and music labels. Apart from original characters, I do not own anything else.)

The old hag grinned. It was an unpleasant sort of grin. A yellow-toothed, wizened, knowing sort of grin. It was the type of grin that, normally, made any travellers to cross her path cross on the other side of the path. Unfortunately, the two travellers today did not have such an option. They were tired, and it was dark, and they had already stopped for the night. They didn't know the old hag meant them no harm. They didn't know she only wanted to tell them a story. The old hag glanced at one of the several watches on her bony, wrinkled wrist... and sighed. "I'll have to cancel my next appointment." She looked at the still-frozen pair, the flickering firelight illuminating her beady black eyes. "There's a knight who cheated his quest, see," she said, in a rather normal voice. One of her companions started. In surprise? Fear? Who knew. "Ah well, it can't be avoided, I suppose." She sat, slowly, on the nearest log which had been pulled up to the fire. The hood of her black cloak fell to her shoulders, revealing patches of limp, grey hair and a sunken-in face. One of the campers shifted uncomfortably. "Oh really, do sit. We have a long night ahead of us." "You-you're-you're a..." one of the campers stuttered. The hag looked at him, waiting. She knew what was coming. Then again, she always knew what was coming. It was just that some version of this moment happened every time, and she'd come to expect it. "You're a hag!" "I am not," she corrected sharply, "a hag. I am a seer. Now sit. You're being rude, and I'm already running late." She shook her arm, and her several watches all rattled and clanked. The campers sat, as one did when lectured about manners by an all-powerful seer. The seer nodded, satisfied, then she spoke. Her voice was different this time. Raspier. Drier, like sand on a cliffside. "Princess Ariabelle Tatiana," she began, for her confused but attentive audience, "was no ordinary princess..."

Gloria didn't think she was going to have to go it alone with her very first café, but when her business partner disappears and she has a lease to pay she must figure out a way to make it work. ------ NOTES: 1. Thank you for reading!!! 2. This is a FIRST DRAFT of my first novel so please be gentle with your comments :) I'm not looking for critique or editing advice but I'd love to hear if you like the story. Comments I particularly value hearing are: if the story takes you anywhere in your mind, if there's anything you're looking forward to finding out in future chapters (e.g. what happens with a specific character you're invested in, etc.) or just things you particularly enjoy reading. I've joined the #JustWriteIt challenge as well as Camp NaNoWriMo with the same challenge. I'm trying to write 10,000 words in a month. Happy reading and writing!

Imagine a world where the chicken never thought about crossing the road. A place where technology doesn’t exist. No, not ‘caveman times’. Right now – yes, your little corner of the world. Imagine if you were growing up in this exact same era, yet things are completely different than how you are used to them being. For just a moment, close your eyes and pretend that you aren’t completely human. Imagine some parallel universe in which you live a completely different life. Two different identities residing in two separate universes that never met. Is that plausible? Well, does part of you wish for it to be true? Yes? Then, it’s definitely plausible. Anything is. Oh, so now you are dreaming of such a universe and such a lifestyle. Well, dream on, my child, and never do stop. **** Two different worlds are invading the spacious universe, yet one lies in a parallel universe from the other. Earth – the world that all is familiar with. It’s normal and can sometimes be called ‘boring’. On Earth, on the exuberant street of Kenyon Ave. lies a small local restaurant where all of the teenagers and ‘hipsters’ cling to – Kenyon Burgers and Fries (K. B. F.). There is a door in the back room of the restaurant that has been locked with the key lost for centuries. No one knows, but behind that door lies a parallel universe – Elmwood. This universe is none like the one you know – the internet is not a thing that exists there, but why would Elmwoodians need it? They have magic. Yes, as in witchcraft and wizardry. Elmwood is everything but what you would expect.

Very few gifted managed to escape to the human world where they now hide in fear of being captured. Uthone is now full of horrible orcs and goblins, destroying a place that was once spectacular. These dark creatures watch out for any escapees and work with Salem to capture all the gifted in the world. Sky is one of the many gifted held captive by Salem. Everyday Sky fights to escape the castle hidden deep in the realm of Uthone but her attempts are useless. The chains that hold her hands and ankles suppress her gift: the power to control anything. This doesn’t prevent Sky from trying to get out though. She’s determined to get out of Salem’s castle and flee to the human world with the hope of coming back to defeat the man who has kept her captive for so long.

Artemis never expected to find herself in the given situation. Disclaimer - I don't own Teen Titans or Young Justice. This is written for the first rank of the Write to Rank on Action's profile page. This is a stand alone one-shot for by Beyond series where the Teen Titans came before the team in Young Justice, but the prompt is to - within one-hundred words - write a story for the prompt, "the realization you are in danger" for the Action genre.
