The old hag grinned. It was an unpleasant sort of grin. A yellow-toothed, wizened, knowing sort of grin. It was the type of grin that, normally, made any travellers to cross her path cross on the other side of the path. Unfortunately, the two travellers today did not have such an option. They were tired, and it was dark, and they had already stopped for the night. They didn't know the old hag meant them no harm. They didn't know she only wanted to tell them a story. The old hag glanced at one of the several watches on her bony, wrinkled wrist... and sighed. "I'll have to cancel my next appointment." She looked at the still-frozen pair, the flickering firelight illuminating her beady black eyes. "There's a knight who cheated his quest, see," she said, in a rather normal voice. One of her companions started. In surprise? Fear? Who knew. "Ah well, it can't be avoided, I suppose." She sat, slowly, on the nearest log which had been pulled up to the fire. The hood of her black cloak fell to her shoulders, revealing patches of limp, grey hair and a sunken-in face. One of the campers shifted uncomfortably. "Oh really, do sit. We have a long night ahead of us." "You-you're-you're a..." one of the campers stuttered. The hag looked at him, waiting. She knew what was coming. Then again, she always knew what was coming. It was just that some version of this moment happened every time, and she'd come to expect it. "You're a hag!" "I am not," she corrected sharply, "a hag. I am a seer. Now sit. You're being rude, and I'm already running late." She shook her arm, and her several watches all rattled and clanked. The campers sat, as one did when lectured about manners by an all-powerful seer. The seer nodded, satisfied, then she spoke. Her voice was different this time. Raspier. Drier, like sand on a cliffside. "Princess Ariabelle Tatiana," she began, for her confused but attentive audience, "was no ordinary princess..."

*COMPLETED* Reign has moved back to the village, and the new air about him has captured Rufus's heart all over again. There is always a second chance at romance, although the past gets in the way. All Rufus would need to do is stay strong- and not fall into his usual dramatic soliloquies. * Not official title. Not official cover. !! This is the first draft; I'm looking for honest critiques, various feedback, and strong opinions.

When it comes to the musical Guys and Dolls, Lottie Ingham would not call herself obsessed--just knowledgeable. After all, she can dedicate entire essays to the smooth gambler character of Nathan Detroit, which any average teenage girl can do, of course. Now that it's summer, she can rewatch the movie as many times as she wants. However, what she doesn't expect is to rope her longtime crush, a hot-as-hell soccer star, into her dedication to Guys and Dolls and more than a couple other mishaps. Two hundred years in the future, Earth's rural lands have all but disappeared. The rest of the planet's surface is one huge city called Metropola. The only place on Earth where no one from Metropola has gone is called Hatari Island. It is located in the south pacific and served as a breeding ground for genetic experimentation in the twenty-second century. Its megafauna is unlike anything the planet has ever seen before. However, there are people on the island, called the Kupata, who have been there for as long as anyone can remember. They still live the old way and shoot bows and arrows and gather their food. But the island is not what it seems. Pretending to be shareholders in a science program on the island, the world's richest men are using the island for something terrible. Something the natives call "Thunder Season." Into this world comes Bahati. Bahati was born on the island and wear the claw of the most powerful beast on the island around his neck. He, like the rest of his people, does not know anything about the existence of Metropola and its people. He has never seen those who come to the island from that place. One day, however, he meets a shipwreck victim named James Goodman, who tells him about the rest of the world. James quickly figures out the island's true purpose and he and Bahati escape with a ragtag band of rebels to tell the rest of the world about the atrocities there. Together, they seek the help of the Metropola council and campaign for the Kupatas' freedom. Unfortunately, a strange twist of events sends Bahati back to the island. There, he is subject to the hardest test he has ever had to pass. Losing will mean certain death. Winning will mean freedom for all his people. *you may have seen this on my fanfiction profile, Renner_Addict135. That's my other account, so please don't freak out and tell me I'm stealing someone else's work. Thanks!*

#CampNaNoWriMo2019 #NaNoWriMo2019 Note: Completed with ongoing edits. Final publishing of all chapters to be posted after NaNoWriMo2019. Season 2 kicks off a few weeks after HLITFFF Season 1's epilogue chapter, In My Graduation. After having been rejected of her feelings, Detective Tamiko Hayase strives to move on despite her heartache. Apart from adjusting to her new normal, the same person who rejected her also happens to be the higher-ups at work, Assistant Commissioner Tadanobu Nomura, who was recently promoted due to his hard work for unraveling the biggest scandal in Metro PD history. To make matters more complicated, Tami is partnered with a gorgeous Inspector from Public Safety. Things get awkward pretty fast for Tami and her new unit, the Special Task Force Against Terrorism (aka STFAT), who are not well received by Tokyo Metro PD after the fall of Metro PD and the aftermath of heinous acts made by the Brotherhood of Fire. Meanwhile there are threats by an international terrorist group called The Dark Angels who plan to make a ruckus at the prestigious International Beauty Pageant, the Miss Celestial Galaxy Pageant. Of which Japan is said to be the host of the beauty pageant. Tokyo Metro PD's Commissioner Maria Sato, takes advantage of the misfits in ST FAT in collaboration with Metro PD and Public Safety to form an Interdepartmental Watch over the proceedings. To add more fire into the pot, she chooses Jyunko Nao, a Transgender woman, to go undercover as a contest for the highly conservative Pageantry which has never yet had a transgender enter in the competition.

Artemis runs into a ghost at Mount Justice. Disclaimer - I don't own Teen Titans and Young Justice. This is written for the forth round of Write to Rank 2. The goal was to write a story between 1-1.5k of the horror and action genre, but also written in first person using active voice as much as possible. Raven is a part of the team - due to the Teen Titans being a precursor before this - so Miss Martian is not.

Here are some haikus that I wrote during Camp NaNoWriMo in April 2014. My main project was a SF novella, but these popped into my head in the evenings (as one might guess from the themes they touch on, haha). I thought they deserved their own story/album.

Camp Nanowrimo April 2017 Ana Královna has always been fascinated by people. She loves to observe their nature, their interactions, their body language, but above all, she likes to get to know them. That is something proving to be difficult when she meets Benjamin Roy. He is sullen and withdrawn, providing her with little to no information on how to judge his character. He is a mystery. When her friends come up with a bet to give her the perfect excuse to get to know him, Ana knows that she can't back down. By the end of the summer, she has to prove that they know each other on a personal level. But everything becomes a little more difficult when feelings come into play, especially since Ana and Benjamin's whole relationship was based on a bet. Will the perfect summer romance last through fall? Or will it come to an explosive finale? Copyright Madison Reeves 2017
