Lotte Sara Kaufmann was sixteen when the nightmare struck. It wasn't a sudden movement, but a planned, tactical kill.
From a large family of merchants, the horror hit fast, thick, and immediate once it did. In Germany, the Kaufmann family owned a bookstore. Lotte was no stranger to the Nazis or their rein of destruction. She considered her family in debt of the Lord above, beyond grateful to have been spared as long as they were.
When Lotte and the Kaufmann's are all sent to a concentration camp, heads turn. Because this truly was no average Jewish family. They had a weapon they weren't even aware of, Lotte herself.
When several Jews and Nazis are caught up in Lotte, she catches on fast.
Romance may be her way out. On the arm of a soldier, or at the barrel of the authority's gun.
But escape is escape.
