Shawn Spencer and Burton Guster were walking along, minding their own business, until they meet Mutant, a "mutant" who has the ability to have REAL psychic powers. They travel around Santa Barbara, solving the one crime that could be connected to a shooting in 1998 and the following events that could've led up to 9/11. Follow Mutant, Shawn, and Gus as they figure out who's behind these crimes they solve together.

Shawn gets a new case but it all goes down hill when Abigail gets involved with his life. She wants him to stop chasing psychos and get a stable job, like his mother, as a psychologist. Maybe a lawyer or a professor. If you call any of these two out of three jobs stable (besides the professor position), you're totally bonkers. But I guess that is what Shawn is.
