SHERMAN OAKS, CA - Christy Vega, owner of Casa Vega, is continuing the 62-year success of the restaurant her father opened in 1956. Christy grew up working in the restaurant, just as her father grew up working in his parents' restaurant. This experience gave Christy the unique ability to value the things that make this restaurant successful and see the ways it can be better.
Christy made positive changes to the restaurant to bring it up-to-speed with the modern Southern California Lifestyle. She got rid of lard as an ingredient in the dishes, preferring healthier options. She added vegan and vegetarian options to the menu to service a wider customer base. Christy makes small changes that benefit the customer experience overall, such as providing toys for children and privacy to A-list celebrities.
Christy Vega understands that her customers and regulars come back for the warm, vintage decor and the dishes they love. Christy invests in the restaurant to keep the ambiance well taken care of and maintained. While she upgrades the ingredients to organic and all-natural, she makes sure to keep the recipes the same for customer favorites, such as the enchiladas.
Casa Vega will continue the legacy of her father and lead the restaurant into a successful future through adapting and listening to the culture of Los Angeles. She looks forward to being a part of the restaurant as it surpasses 62 years with the goal of reaching 100.
