Sequel to Everything to Lose, this continues the story of Varian and Cassandra, as they go With Eugene and Rapunzel to a Kingdom for a Royal assembly and Ball. When it becomes evident that someone at the assembly wants the royal couple dead, it is up to Cass and Varian to uncover the culprits and save their friends. I do not own these characters, this is total fanfiction.

Modern AU : Cassandra is back from work, (--- a long hard week) and Varian is glad that he finally gets to spend some time with his wife (with holidays and the Christmas season ringing in).

What if Edmond never tried to touch the Moonstone? What if he never gave the order to evacuate the Dark Kingdom? What if Gothel never "had to" kidnap the princess? What if the Corona guards only took the petals of the Sundrop? By allowing the flower to grow, the darkness was kept at bay. Over the years, Corona and the Dark Kingdom had more and more disputes that soon led to war. What will happen when Rapunzel gets curious and sneaks off to the Dark Kingdom, dragging Cass with her? When Corona receives intel that The Dark Kingdom plans to attack Corona in a few months, they form Operation Handmaiden. A spy will sneak into the Dark kingdom under a fake identity as a servant to get intel. They know just the person for the job. Cassandra agrees to do it. Soon after she starts, things get off to a bumpy start with Prince Varian and his brother. Cassandra dislikes them both. Cassandra decides one night to take off her disguise and sneak out of the dark kingdom's palace for some time alone. She doesn't realize that Prince Varian, tired of royal life, has a habit of sneaking out disguised as well. What will happen when Varian and Cassandra meet again under different identities? -------- This story happens an alternate universe where Varian is 19 and Cassandra is 20, a few things have happened differently from the series. Varian's been dreading his birthday, every boy in Corona has to present themselves in the great hall on their eighteenth birthday and they're not allowed to leave until a young lady presents them with a kiss. Humorous one fic with some of the tangled characters. Warning: slight mentioning of sexual themes - a Varian still has a crush on Cassandra fic.

Varian is 16 Cassandra is 18 Cassandra had kidnapped him. He should have seen it coming, really. After all, he had the scroll that had the incantations. He was the map... It just hurt to see how far of lengths Cassie had gone. He had to do what he could to get her off the path she was going down.

He didn't know why he agreed to do it but he just found himself traveling in the woods to find her. He did managed to see the dark-haired girl only to realize that she was outnumbered by a group of men. Questions by questions popped out in the alchemist's mind.
