Every 4 PM, like clockwork, Elle would walk into Brew Haven - not for the caramel macchiato she claimed to love, but for the boy behind the counter who never spelled her name right on the cup. Liam, the quiet barista with messy curls and tired eyes, never said much, but his smile? It lingered longer than the coffee's steam. Just when Elle thought her little routine couldn't get any sweeter, a familiar face from her past walks in - Kai, her childhood best friend turned almost-something, now back from Manila and suddenly very interested in her new "coffee habit." One cup. Two boys. And a heart that's not sure which one to pour itself into.

𝓣he scene plays out with Ray Dimasalang sliding the lower sash of the double hung and the only window hinged in his boarding room, to witness the annual Filipino salubongan for Bagong Taon. Well. 𝓝𝓸. He actually unbarred the sash from the lower panel to leap headfirst towards unsuspecting children playing with Watusi and piccolo below and hopefully die. If he doesn't, there are still rogue firecrackers lying on the ground which would eventually explode and kill him in the process. A 5'7 and a half tall of a disappointment, Ray contemplates this when a sightless stranger named Avery Dimagiba sitting coolly from the casement window next-door accounted how much of a fleabag he is and somehow convinced him to live a little longer. ────────── 𝒫𝒮: Conversations are a mixture of Bisaya and English, but mostly Bisaya.
