My cello is my sanctuary, until it awakens a monster. Everyone at St. Augustine's Conservatory thinks I, Min Su, got in on a pity scholarship. They don't know my music comes from a secret place-a pulse of pure light I can't explain. When I play, I don't just make sound. I purify the darkness. He is the darkness. Isaiah, a 300-year-old vampire prince, has been numb for centuries. He stalks the night, hunting for a feeling, and finds it in my music. To him, I'm not a musician. I'm a drug. But I'm also a target. A rogue Alpha named Marcus wants to weaponize my gift to burn the vampire world to ash. Growing up under the shadow of an amazing viola player. Kalaya Fey was determined to play the cello, and prove she too was talented in the art of music. Little did she know, when eighth grade roled around she would meet most attractive cello player the world has ever met. Or at least in her eyes. As time continues to pass, Kalaya realizes she is running out of time. Now in high school, and with Ethan Richards one grade above her. Will she ever be able to get him to realize her in school? Or will she have to catch his attention though the cello?

Marly Divata, a Filipina cellist who just moved to New York with her family has decided to meet her neighbors. She soon acquaints herself with the Hellers, a family of tuxedo cats. With time, she befriends each of them, including the quiet Mordecai Heller. Their friendship grows as the years pass, though at one point, years later, her friend Mordecai has seemed to run away from home. Marly now travels around the states with a cello based career set in play. As she grows in popularity in the musical industry, she soon decides to settle down in St. Louis in the year 1923. She joins the Lackadaisy band as their 3rd string player, and she soon gets to know all the staff, and even some regulars of the speakeasy! Though it seems that among (among us) the staff, is a very familiar tuxedo cat. He even has the emerald eyes.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you were to go back in time and fix your mistakes? What if you woke up one day with a bout of inspiration and surged forward to pick up a task from long ago, only to realize that you'd forgotten how. Clarice's endless work allowed her to be as accomplished in the world of science and logic as she is. But at the tender age of eighty, she realized that so much was missing from her seemingly fulfilled life. Clarice has unknowingly lacked true passion, art, and love throughout her life, and is determined to travel back in time to create a life in which all three exist through.

The rivalry between band and orchestra cannot be solved by the "symphony orchestra" in high school. Many high schools simply don't have the funding or the dedication of enough students to have one. Never mind the choir; they're barely recognized as musicians, anyway. A first-chair cellist has caught the attention of four band students after an oboist ditches band for the cello. Although they antagonize her ridiculously to try to hide their jealousy, all four are head-over-heels in love with her, one more so than the other three.

I have been offered a music scholarship to Chance Music College. It's unbelievable. As I walk down the halls, I am serenaded by a melody. A cellist? I follow the melody and it leads me to a practice room. I see a tall guy with black messy curtain hair... He wears formal attire - a black suit- as though he is preparing for a performance. I look away for a split second, and he's there standing right in front me. "Sorry, you're in my way. I'm late". He dashes off. There's something about him that allures me. A story about two musicians who will choose love over music. But how music will affect their love for each other? And how their love story affect their love in music too? This was only categorized as short story because you can read it in one sitting. I, the author don't want to make this any longer. These ideas and imaginations of the author were all part of her midnight thoughts.
