This is a found poem from the novel The Cellist of Sarajevo, by Steven Galloway, that I had to write for english.

Reader, think carefully about your life. First remember that argument you had with your loved one, then remember the day you walked away. Then think about those failing moments, when you were crushed and left behind in the dirt. I can, and will, share your pain. It was once remarked to me that I have known enough pain in my life for one hundred people. Only at fourteen, after all, was I in a car accident which not only left me partially paralysed, but as blind as a bat. In a blink of an eye- or so to speak- my life was stolen away. The doctors believed that I would never wake up from the coma, but I was strong, for I had faith in myself. Life since has been determined to hold me back, but I have fought to achieve what I want in my heart. Delve into the realms of darkness and read the words I have etched onto this page- if you dare. You may find, amongst them, the glimmers of love and happiness which I have discovered after what seemed an eternity. So read on.

Quincy and Bryce share many moments alone in the bass section in the back of the class where no one ever pays attention, but one annoying, overachieving cellist is threatening to ruin it all... (lmao isn't the cover so clever....... get it.... two basses...... bass fish..... bassists.... haha)

I have been offered a music scholarship to Chance Music College. It's unbelievable. As I walk down the halls, I am serenaded by a melody. A cellist? I follow the melody and it leads me to a practice room. I see a tall guy with black messy curtain hair... He wears formal attire - a black suit- as though he is preparing for a performance. I look away for a split second, and he's there standing right in front me. "Sorry, you're in my way. I'm late". He dashes off. There's something about him that allures me. I have to find out what it is. start: 15.07.19 end :
