The fourth in a series of stories about my experiences in an elementary classroom during my 20+ year career. "Cheers" is the story of a mother of one of my pupils who fell in love with me and became my stalker. Sad and disturbing tale of mental illness, loneliness and loss.

Newly married Lauren 'Smith' is as happy as can be following her beautiful wedding. Everything is going perfect, until her husband starts acting weirdly. His temper just gets higher and higher, until one day he snaps. He hits her. Convinced it's just a phase, Lauren doesn't tell anyone. She shuts herself off, ignores her friends and quits her job. Things only complicate when Lauren meets her best friend's brother, Gerard. The two immediately hit it off, and become friends. When he finds out her secret, what will he do?   (Includes Band Members! It has a lot to do with the band once Gerard meets Frank. Also a Soon-To-Be Killjoy story, where I'll probably need a few people to volunteer as Killjoys!)

It's a small article based on humanity and dedication which we all could show towards our nation to make it a dream place.

I remember specifically, when I was about eleven, it was Christmastime and my parents had bought some red wine. Of course since I was in my own house, I was legally allowed to have some. We made a toast, and clinked out glasses together after saying the customary "cheers!" We all sipped our drinks until my dad made an interesting remark. "You know guys, as a young man, when we would make toasts and clink glasses, I would always be confused. I never understood why we did that until, I looked it up! So, when two people clink their glasses some of the drink might spill into the other. In the days when 'cheers' was invented, it was very common for enemies to poison eachother. Therefore, clinking glasses is a form of saying 'I trust you'. Isn't that interesting, kids?" That always stuck with me. So, Can I trust You?

Being a bartender in a small town has its ups and downs. A huge down, literally everyone knows everyone and unfortunately everyone talks. Imagine how much gossip a newcomer will generate. You can't keep you're head down as much as you try in this town. Especially when you step foot in the towns watering hole.
