My take at Chiaroscuro: the artistic intermarriage of darkness and light.

A psalm of the Past. A frame of time when darkness strangles. Where death would be to have hope. It's the sojourn out of darkness into the light. From hell on earth, to salvation, to hope, to sanctification.

For year 12 English, I studied the movie called "Good night and good luck" directed by the infamous George Clooney. The movie revolves around the prominent issues in regards to the McCarthyism period of US history. It looks at the constant tension and battles between the Soviet Union and US during a time when the Cold War was just around the corner. While it did have serious implications, the movie takes a cinematic spin on this topic. With postmodernism techniques glittered in every scene and take, the movie heavily uses film noir through its use of black and white, the use of chiaroscuro lighting further accentutes the tonality that Clooney potrays as Edward Murrow steps out of the shadows to embody the stance against his main enemy: Senator Joseph McCarthy...

Set in the Chiaroscuro universe. The boys are a little older now - Van 21, Impey 19 and Victor 18. Victor has been overwhelmed with work to the point that he has missed two important dates, and it is up to Impey to rescue the situation. Or is it really?

Jason Tisse, is on a jet plane headed to to Europe, his first trip abroad. To relax he picks up an old cinema trade magazine and is shocked to find an article written by his film school mentor, Edgerton. It's a story so fantastic that Jason can't tell if the article is fact of fiction. It's whimsical tale which describes the origins of a magic Brownie Kodak camera, which strangely seems to be the very camera that Jason has stored in the overhead compartment right above his seat! Jason had planned to use the camera to document the works of his favorite painter, and when he does, the magic box of light will unleash all of the sex, violence and humor captured on canvas by the infamous artist, Caravaggio!
