Chiaroscuro Rossi has given up writing after years of failing to get his stories published and has settled on being an editor for a small, indie publishing house called VinBianco. After an economic crisis and lack of engagement hit VinBianco and force it to close in four weeks, Chiaroscuro takes it upon himself to join a writing contest and save their publishing house with the prize money. My take at Chiaroscuro: the artistic intermarriage of darkness and light.

This poem seeks to capture the mesmerising effect of a campfire. Staring in silence is meditative, calming and transformative. When you consider the dual nature of fire; its potentially destructive power and its capabilities for supporting life, it is impossible not to feel awe.
