inspired by the song 'me & ur ghost' by blackbear and toilet bound hanako-kun (also slightly influenced by mitsukou);; an au where chongyun is from a family of exorcists and xingqiu is a friendly ghost that just roams around the school unbeknownst to everyone in said school. chongyun is a transfer student that's been sent there from his parents, with him hoping he can finally prove to them that he is worthy of the exorcist title. and what happens when you mix a ghost thats been forgotten and a boy who's trying to fit in with everyone? read to find out! :)

it's not a slowburn... is it a fastburn?? well i dunno, but welcome to articuno's first attempt at writing anything longer than 700 words. i actually had a lot of fun with this, and i forced my friend (who wanted to go by "best writer in the world") to do a lot of betareading for me. i think it turned out good, haha! i'm planning to break from the canon a bit after this, maybe with a rarepair like yancrose (yanfei x sucrose) where they both go to sumeru academia? that'd be so cute, i'll make some art of them. ooh or i could go an entirely different route with the "gets into fights/faithful nurse" relationship dynamic. anyone got some good canons i could draw from for that? anyway, time to stop monologuing. enjoy and stay tuned for more! Chongyun was never fond of the heat. With summer approaching and the weather getting warmer and warmer, it was hard for the blue-haired male to situate in Liyue. He tried everything from keeping multiple portable fans on him at all times, to buying truckloads of popsicles. Xiangling saw it as an opportunity to create new dishes, so most of them were gone by the next day, with Chongyun ending up tasting all of her crazed cooking disasters. It was hard for him to focus on exorcism when he was quite literally melting more than the popsicles. On the other hand, Xingqiu was a bookworm. It wasn't that hard to please the boy. He didn't mind the summer heat either. Just give him a few books, a flashlight, and lock him in the closet (no pun intended) all day and he'll be satisfied. Just remember to check on him every now and then. Hu tao, who first started this "lock-Xingqiu-in-a-closet" trend, accidentally left him in there for 2 days straight. Let's just say, it didn't end up well. Nor did Xingqiu appreciate Hu tao's "amusing prank," as she called it. And so, with the two boys, somehow ending up together during this whole fiasco, Maybe, just maybe, This summer wouldn't be such a bad one after all. ~~~~ AN: Irrelevant to this fanfic, but still don't know if it's grey or gray

Dating is not a problem but the thing is that Chongyun really thinks Xingqiu is a girl, making him really insecure.
