Ruby Pullman was pushed aside by her family straight after birth. Sure, her parents still were kind to her but they seemed to care even more about August, even though they were twins. Ruby hated how Auggie got most of the attention and how he seemed to take up a massive percentage of their parents attention. Ruby cared for Auggie, but what is she meant to do when her family is torn apart by countless problems? This story is set one year after Auggie's starting school when Ruby switches schools so she can keep an eye on Auggie. Both are in sixth grade except Ruby and Auggie are in different classes. What can Ruby do to keep herself from snapping under her parents expectations?

{Prologue} The young furry looked down at the ocean below, enjoying the company of her newfound friends as they watched the sun set under the watery horizon. "What could have caused Xina to react that way towards you?" The fifteen year-old girl to her left asked. "I don't know..." The young furry replied, tendering her wounded side. "It kinda changes you, watching someone get dragged away by the police. Especially when you're almost unconscious." "She deserved it. She shouldn't have attacked you like that for who you are." "We are seen as a disease to society that needs to be burned out, a plague." "But we know different, we know that you deserve the same rights as everyone else." The furry rubbed her side. "Heh. Yeah, I guess."

Phoebe Quinn was born with dyslexia, but aside from that she had a perfect life, (in her opinion) she had a best friend, two loving parents, okay grades (you know because of dyslexia), then August Pullman comes to school, she has new friends, and a crush on August's best friend Jack Will. (Also this is based of the book, and it has some more updated technology, like they have IPhones and stuff, because kids now a days usually have phones by 10 or 11, or some type of technology like that.)
