I marveled from my perch high in the trees at the way its coarse black fur shone in the final rays of light the sun could muster before it would be replaced by the moon. I marveled at the way it made no noise at all as it padded across the forest floor, a floor covered entirely in dead leaves. I marveled at the way its dark verdant eyes locked with mine as the broad head lodged itself deep inside its chest. I marveled at the way its howls split through the now dark forest.
