In the near future, the world and planet Earth have changed a lot, but not quite as we imagined. Professor Tempéra Akheeli is an artificial birth and genetic engineering specialist whose passion for his research takes him beyond everything he never believed in as a learned man of his time in the early 2080's. "At the Twilight of Mankind" is an atypical original Mystery Science Fiction story to read with a curious and open mind. Dedicated to all those before me who had the courage and the audacity to open the doors of the impossible for themselves and the following generations. Their stories have inspired many beyond the supposed boundaries of human possibilities and imagination. COPYRIGHTS © Beatrice Severien

Poetry Collection // Upon the Stars We See is a deeply personal and politically charged chapbook that weaves together haiku, prose poems, and spoken word to explore the intersections of Indigenous identity, environmental grief, and the quiet violence of modern existence. Through minimalism and lyrical force, it constructs a celestial mirror-reflecting not only the realities of colonization and capitalism, but also the resilience, memory, and inherited strength of those who live through them.

Global warming, global cooling, what if all the predictions are right? Or worse, what if all the predictions are wrong? Can humans truly hope to understand the complexities attendant on such changes, never mind explain their relationships and predict their effects? The people at WBI - Walden Biodiversity Institute - think they can. At the very least, they intend to prepare as well as possible for the changes to come, whatever they may be. This is not a story of tragedy and despair. This is a story of possibilities and hope, of dreams and perseverance. If you want to know what the future could bring, should bring, start here. " ...this future sounds amazing. Not for the first time, I wish the world was more like your stories..." Utopian dreams and technological innovations. Not merely airy wishful dreams of what it would be like to be there, but realistically hopeful dreams of how to get there. This story could be a revelation of what our next twenty years will bring.

The smoke wraps tendrils around your legs and sinks into your skin. Dry coughs scrape their blunt nails down your throat and the smoke penetrates deeper, sliding a hand around your neck and s q u e e z i n g. Everything is blurry now. Your breath comes in short, sharp bursts. You hear hoarse sobs in between rasping coughs. Blood and saliva drips onto the dead grass. Too late. *** It's always the quiet, unassuming events that foretell the end. That's where the movies get it wrong. The world won't go out with a bang. It will slowly burn right in front of our eyes as we pretend that we like the warmth. Then when we finally come to our senses and we are no longer blinded by money and greed, it will be too late. A collection of short speculative fiction and poetry pieces that explore the fine line between dystopia and reality.

Hi, I'm Kai! I will take you on a unique and surprising journey: in my home, the ocean. Through my curious dolphin eyes, you will discover the wonders and secrets of the marine environments that my herd and I frequent. You will learn about our world, about what you don't know enough about us (apart from the so-called "clichés" about us). But that's not all! I will bring you together the inhabitants who populate the oceans and seas: vital, for our "home". Yes! Because in our "home", everyone does their part, in this incredible marine ecosystem; from small microorganisms to fish, up to us cetaceans, constituting a perfect, unique, and perpetual chain. If a part of our would be missing, everything would collapse, our "home" would collapse. Unfortunately... this risk is there, and it is always... more... near. Through my eyes, I see you human beings causing damage to my "home" and even to us who populate it. We dolphins are in danger of disappearing. Forever. Forever, even those who inhabit them and the wonderful landscapes that are reduced to deserts. For this reason, I decided to make myself and let you tell what I see with my own eyes. With the eyes of a dolphin. When you read this story, try to identify with me, try, for a moment, to be able to have my gaze. Believe me, you will have a wider and deeper view, you will immerse yourself even more in my world" - Kai

After a baby is born, parents are given three years to go to the "Social Security Services" They are implanted a chip that determines their social status based on the parents' IQ test and yearly income. The government kills those who have disabilities, and sends children who have been marked as 'poor' to a five year program after they turn 12-years old. The program is hosted each Saturday and summer in an attempt to give everyone an equal opportunity to life. If the students fail the IQ test then they are lobotomized to serve the country in the army or clean the environment. Those who scored extremely low are killed in domes. In reality, the system is not a fair opportunity. Margarita, a final year student attending the Social Security School knows that the corrupted rich are becoming more and more desperate for the resources everyone is running low on due to the severe climate change crisis. She fears that she will be one of the couple thousands that unfairly fall short in the system. Similarly, like her friend's sister who was killed to keep a scandal quiet. Every day, Margarita faces a war between the rich and poor. The whites and the minorities. Falling in love with a white person is like finding a loophole in the system, and she can't tell the difference between what's real anymore.
