A month has passed since the fall of the Overlord's fortress. Ninjago is rebuilding. The ninja are healing. But Kai? He is only beginning to break. Still recovering from the torture and corruption forced on him, Kai now carries permanent marks of darkness: blood‑red eyes, shadowed veins, and a volatile fire that no longer listens to him. Every day he battles his own power, his memories, and the voice the Overlord left behind in his mind. But the greatest fight is the one inside his heart. As Kai struggles with nightmares, hallucinations, and a growing numbness, the ninja refuse to give up on him - especially Lloyd, who remains his anchor when the darkness threatens to swallow him whole. Yet even their comfort can't stop Kai from spiraling deeper into self‑destruction, desperate to control the monster he fears he's becoming. Meanwhile, a new threat rises in Ninjago's shadowed corners: remnants of the Overlord's power searching for a vessel to reignite their master's reign.
