(Slow Periodic Updates) Hi, okay, I've been having a rough time lately so I took an idea I had from a while ago and now I'm putting it here since I really needed to get some feelings out. So here you go...it might be a bit sketchy and rough around the edges though. It will also be put into short little parts. So...here's a look into the depths of my train of thought. I just thought it'd be an interesting short story.(:

I wrote this very recent poem about the fine line between taking a cheeky risk, occasional gamble indulging in the slightly wild and the danger of addiction, obsession and being completely consumed by something. I hope you enjoy!

Lyla has grown up living a somewhat normal life, and she has grown quite fond of her life in the small town of Hale. Since she was just a baby she has lived with the kind and loving Alexander, and has accepted him as her father. Her real parents died when she was very young, so she doesn't remember anything of her past, except the things that Alexander has told her. She trusts his every word, but could he have left some things out? When a man approaches Lyla claiming to know her real parents, she begins to question everything she has learned to call home. A true love needs to consume you. You need a love that overcomes anything. And when you find that love, it could slip through you fingers like water. Because with love there is a price. Giving up everything for it. Losing a few of your closest friend, your most precious pride, and everything that might have mattered to you before. With Klaus it was love at first sight, with Caroline it was exactly the opposite. Klaus has been a vampire since the Middle Ages of Europe, he is an original. Caroline just turned about seven months ago. Klaus has never experienced love like this before, he has always believed that love was a weakness. Caroline is head over heels for Tyler Lockwood, a hybrid. Tyler is also being controlled by Klaus, because Klaus is his "creator". What happens when jealousy overpowers rational decisions? What will happen when Caroline, the one that Klaus would change for, spits right in his face? But who could blame her? After all of the horrible and awful things that Klaus has done....how would Caroline ever be able to love him?

In that case, you're probably as stupid as me. I'm Logan, by the way. I didn't pay attention to any warning signs either. Being an unemployed deadbeat in Edmonton with no family and getting dumped by your girlfriend for her best friend can wear a guy down. All I had was my cokehead buddy, Skip, to cheer me up. Surprisingly, my precautionary tale was not caused by either Skip or the drugs. Let's just say a drunken make-out session with a pale girl by a dumpster, who was supposedly pronounced dead earlier in the evening, can leave you mentally jumbled up. A good motivator to figure this scenario out is having robed cultists stalk you, asking where the girl is. Is this an ill twist of fate? Did I bring this on myself? Is there a reason behind my misfortune? Is the moral to not make out with spooky girls behind dumpsters? Hell if I know...

A piece of flash fiction I wrote in honor of Halloween. This isn't my usual genre or style of writing (I'm not nearly so poetic), but I worked hard! Enjoy! :-)

"He has fallen. You must run my dear sister, for it is no longer safe for you here." "Why brother, why must I go?" I cried back. Pleading for an answer. "Katerrina, just this once, will you please listen to me?" He responded, tears now falling from his oceany-blue eyes. "Yes brother. I will. I'm sorry." I whispered back. "Just promise me you won't be like father. Please don't forget me." "How could I ever forget you? You're the greatest sister a guy could ever ask for." He promised me that when I was 4. I am now 11. I haven't seen him since. His last words to me before he parted with me were, "Don't let the darkness consume you." I didn't understand then, and I still don't.
