This short story follows a kind-hearted, energetic young man named Renz who finds himself trapped in an uninteresting, ever-looping life-filled with video games and school friends, yet lacking the wonder he craves. Frustrated by the dull repetition and mocked by others for his creative writing, he withdraws from the world around him, and his imagination grows more vivid and wonderful with each passing day. One night in a forest, he spots a bright, mysterious glint in the sky-brighter than the moon, unlike any star or meteor shower-and is irresistibly drawn to it. As whispers from the "Realm Beyond" fill his ears, the glint intensifies, and Renz is transported to the World of Wonders: a lush, surreal realm of moon-blessed waters, white lotus blossoms, an arched carven bridge, and a vast, named sea. There, he discovers that his presence awakens dormant particles of light, and he crosses a mile-wide bridge that rises from the split ocean to reach the glorious Sapphire Fortress-an ethereal blue structure with celestial carvings, stardust-paved pathways, and crystalline corridors filled with floating orbs of light that hold the world's memories. This short story follows a cosmic narrative rooted in the supreme existence of the Boundless Prototype-also called the Great Sovereign or Supreme Autonomous-who stands above all notions and names, having birthed infinite Thought Cubes (Boxes of Everything) from its memories, thoughts, and ideas. Within one such cube lies a realm of infinite doors, each surpassing the one below it and all bowing to the all-encompassing Ultimate Door, which leads down to a frail dream holding the primordial void. From this void emerged the Fathomless One, a being of absolute power that filled the darkness with the higher vastness-an infinite ocean dotted with islands of infinity, where cosmic trees grow with leaves holding gateways to endless higher worlds, each containing countless cosmos-atoms and further worlds in an unending cascade. As life and civilizations flourished across this realm, the Fathomless One split into forces including the eternal, timeless, and unbound Primordial Lords, who view creation as a mere illusion and whose aimless movements shape its laws. Beyond them lies their master, Northelaphor-the Slumbering God, Great Alpha of the higher vastness, and Ultimate Dreamer-an unspeakable, transcendent being older than time who mindlessly conjured the Fathomless One and rests eternally on the infinite Mount Migulonus, surrounded by ravenous valliyans in the void's waters. When Northelaphor stirs, reality warps and madness spreads; though it returns to sleep due to an unintended resonance with the name of Lhapsioethros, its elder son and the Primordial Lords' chancellor, its full awakening would annihilate the entire higher vastness, reducing all worlds, souls, and laws to nothing but the raw fury of the Awakened One, leaving only silence in its wake. In a time when the Earth was only darkness, the Mother Tree, Ton Maa, grew alongside her celestial kin to bring light and life to the vast sphere. From her falling leaves and twigs, the world was populated with creatures and humans, establishing a delicate harmony between the gentle and the fierce. But when a dark branch falls from Ton Maa's shadows, the Serpent of Destruction, Kgnewdam, is born, threatening to unravel the cycle of life. To restore balance, the gods must face their own creations, leading to a cosmic sacrifice that transforms the sky into a canvas of night and day. This is a short creation myth I designed for my mythology class! It was incredibly fun to create, and it's one of the few stories I made that I would love to expand into a longer narrative--also one of the stories I love to re-read once in a while and related to my own culture.
