Antes de Runaterra y de todas sus regiones existieron el Cosmos y El Vacío. Dos extremos totalmente opuestos que albergaban secretos que sólo algunos sabios de la edad actual pudieron descubrir. En un principio, los habitantes del Cosmos adoraban la majestuosidad de los planetas, cuerpos celestes y galaxias, llenando de vida cada uno de estos y creyendo ciegamente que no existía algo más; hasta la aparición de VelKoz, un engendro de El Vacío que destruía todo a su paso acompañado de otras criaturas oscuras.
