When Dolly Parton decides to take a quick weekend retreat, she leaves her legendary venue, The Grand Back-Porch Stage, in the hands of her trendy pop-star goddaughter, Miley Cyrus. Eager to bring the classic country joint into the "21st Century," Miley rebrands the entire establishment into "The Glitter Barn"-outfitting the crew in hot-pink faux-fur boots, replacing traditional sweet tea with glowing LED energy boba, and swapping out acoustic guitars for auto-tuned synth pads. Darlene, ever the devoted worker, tries her absolute best to embrace the chaotic makeover, even while struggling to balance in giant 6-inch pink boots and missing her trusty wooden guitar. Meanwhile, Courtney, initially thrilled at the prospect of "elevating" the venue's aesthetic, quickly reaches her breaking point when Miley forces her to play a pink keytar while wearing a giant velvet bow. When Dolly returns and realizes the expensive new decor is scaring away the real country folks (and eating into her profit margins), she knows Miley's feelings will be crushed if she fires her. Dolly secretly begs Darlene to do the unthinkable: find a way to "get fired" or convince Miley that the country life just isn't her true calling, leading to a hilarious backstage showdown where Darlene and Courtney team up to save their beloved stage.
