Before I could pass out, Adrien knelt over my trembling form. He shattered a thick sheet of glass against the table, holding a razor-sharp shard in his gloved hand. "You forgot whose name you carry, my dear," he whispered softly. "Let's make sure you remember." He pressed the jagged glass deep into the bare skin of my shoulder blade.
