I have the goal of reading every single book mention through characters in Bungo stray dogs, I know this will take YEARS but why not also document my thoughts on the books and authors and other info I pick up on the way I'll try to keep each spoiler free and I will also rate non BSD Books but, by the same authors I'll rate each of them based off of the plot, characters and overall how much I enjoyed the books.. feel free to say your opinions too since I really want to hear them. I'll be rating them x/10, say how long it took me to finish it and further research I've done on the books and Authors BE AWARE. A bunch of these novels/novellas have dark themes like suicide, death, homophobia/transphobia, sexism etc. within them.. I'll give a trigger warning in the beginning.

A dark and compelling study of a young intellectual tempted towards crime through severe poverty. Raskolnikoff, a former student who is morbidly self-obsessed, murders an old lady, who is a money-lender, with a borrowed hatchet in a desperate attempt to free himself of poverty. From the opening pages, Dostoyevsky attaches us unflinchingly to his intense and mysterious anti-hero, creating a web of intimacy and tension. Crime and guilt are the central themes running through the novel and the notions of 'justifiable' murder and worldly retribution are depicted with deft and razor-sharp precision. The novel both haunts and disturbs, yet it is the most accessible and exciting novel in the world.

ONGOING ✯ "Love me rough and let me fly." ✯ Everyone knows that feeling you get in the pit of your stomach when something is even just slightly off. Some could say it's like a sixth sense, others just call it instinct. You call it a gift. 25, born in Russia and CEO of a government owned finance company in Yokohama, you're relatively young for such a position. Your authority is always questioned, and after one minor slip up, you now have the police watching you closely; too closely for your own liking, especially when not many know about your ability. You prefer it that way. You've always been a sucker for power, and the constant criticism you receive with the need to be so careful has given you a craving for freedom...a craving too easily teased after you encounter a specific man - or maybe just a clown - for better or for worse. Especially when something about him feels so familiar, and the messy memories of your past in Russia begin to surface. They say one moment can change your life, but you never believed it until now...but the only question in your mind is: Who is he? What's waiting for you at the end of this riddle? ✯ Trigger warnings: I don't think anything specific but whatever you find in bsd could count. - I will be using female pronouns. - I update whenever I can. ✯ Your ability is based off of the real life Nikolai Gogol's dead souls novel (more or less). ✯ Disclaimer: I don't own the characters except for "you". The credit to the Bungou Stray Dogs world goes to the respective owners. The plot is all originally mine, however. ✯ Thank you to Mar (@marster_) for making this cover.

FROM THE AWARD-WINNING TRANSLATORS RICHARD PEVEAR AND LARISSA VOLOKHONSKY Raskolnikov is a troubled young man adrift in the dark and chaotic streets of St Petersburg. Desperate for money, he plans a perfect crime - the murder of a vile pawnbroker who no one will miss. Convinced that all great men commit crimes to benefit mankind, Raskolnikov steps beyond good and evil. So begins one of the greatest novels ever written: a journey into the criminal mind, a police thriller and a philosophical meditation on morality and redemption.

Rodia is depressed. His life is the personification of blue and gray- only more miserable, and he is an undergrad freshman at a prestigious college, majoring in criminal psychology. Of course- his mother, with her little pension, cannot afford to send him there, but he has, luckily, secured the full scholarship. You'd think such a prodigy would at least be proud? No. The only thing Rodia finds lucky about his situation is that he got to live alone in his little dorm room, and hence is able to plaster the walls with depressive sticky notes. Until, he comes along. Raz, a philosophy major, also on scholarship, joining college a week late due to family issues, aspires to dive deeper into his roommate's dark mind.
