An ingenious code hidden in the works of Leonardo da Vinci. A desperate race through the cathedrals and castles of Europe. An astonishing truth concealed for centuries . . . unveiled at last. While in Paris, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is awakened by a phone call in the dead of the night. The elderly curator of the Louvre has been murdered inside the museum, his body covered in baffling symbols. As Langdon and gifted French cryptologist Sophie Neveu sort through the bizarre riddles, they are stunned to discover a trail of clues hidden in the works of Leonardo da Vinci—clues visible for all to see and yet ingeniously disguised by the painter. Even more startling, the late curator was involved in the Priory of Sion—a secret society whose members included Sir Isaac Newton, Victor Hugo, and Da Vinci—and he guarded a breathtaking historical secret. Unless Langdon and Neveu can decipher the labyrinthine puzzle—while avoiding the faceless adversary who shadows their every move—the explosive, ancient truth will be lost forever.

Asher Sterling has always known that a house built on lies is doomed to crumble. The corruption he remembers most vividly is not of buildings, but of the marriage between his parents-a union founded on deceit and betrayal. Graduating from architectural school, Asher dreams of creating spaces that offer security and solace, a stark contrast to the unstable world he's known. Yet, the world demands more from him: success, professionalism, and the appearance of having it all together. Asher's life takes an unexpected turn after a tragic accident at the Tote Mounover Tower, where a life is lost due to structural failure. This incident forces him to the investigation. Amidst his struggle to reconcile all these questions, he encounters Eira, a mysterious figure whose idealism and courage challenge the cynical realities Asher has come to accept. But Eira is more than just an idealist-she has a unique understanding of how the world works, one that involves manipulating the unseen threads of fate. Together, Asher and Eira embark on a secretive collaboration, using their combined skills to design and orchestrate seemingly coincidental events that push them closer to their goals. They craft a 'Blueprint of Coincidence,' where every chance encounter and unexpected twist is meticulously planned to achieve their desired outcomes. As they delve deeper into this intricate game of fate, Asher finds himself questioning the morality of their actions. Is engineering these 'coincidences' any different from the deceit he faced all the way? Yet, as their carefully crafted plans begin to unfold, Asher and Eira are faced with the ultimate test: whether they can control the forces they've unleashed or if they will be consumed by the very coincidences they've designed.

Reviewed by Ruth Castleberry for Readers' Favorite Wow. What a ride! Incognito by Khaled Talib starts off with a passage describing where the kidnapped Pope is being held prisoner. And then it takes off, following three individuals - Ayden, Guy and Isabelle - as they try to find the Pope. The three are members of the League of Invisible Knights, a secret organization created "to bring about the triumph of good over evil." Pursuing clues, this team is subjected to various attempts to thwart their progress, including ambushes to slow them down or kill them, kidnappings, and attempts to frame them for various crimes. In the end, the trio is being pursued by police, the media and the evildoers. Their adventure truly reads like watching an unrelenting action film. I can't remember a novel that created the sensation that I was in the middle of a thrilling chase using only words. Yes, Mr. Talib certainly knows how to wield his words. His descriptions of action-oriented encounters are tightly written and very vivid. He gives his primary characters depth and flaws, making them believable within the context of this adventure. Not only that, his story is both topical and edgy. Religious and political elements are both critical to the plot, and the author establishes realistic context and background as he incorporates the appropriate influences of both into his story. The balance between dialogue and narration is very good. Obviously, the pace is brisk, I might even say breakneck in some places. Khaled Talib's Incognito is a hard book to put down.
