After sixteen years of marriage and two children, Daniela and Manon's life together is coming apart. As Manon files for divorce, Daniela is left grieving a life she thought would last forever. Between Sunday switches and shared school concerts, they must figure out how to become two homes without losing what matters most.

Daniela is pure fire loud, competitive, and working herself to the bone for her red Mustang GT. She can't stand Manon, the school's quiet, untouchable "it-girl." But as their petty hallway war turns into accidental glances at a boba shop and shared space at the lockers, Daniela's irritation melts into a secret, suffocating obsession. When a breakdown in a school bathroom finally forces their walls down, Daniela builds up the courage to tell her the truth. She just doesn't realize she's already running out of time.

She sees Manon, a scared child just like the rest of them that was forced to kill in a cruel game for crimes neither of them had committed. It's time for the victory tour again, and victor Daniela Avanzini of district 9 is dreading it, not only because it means she has to be back in the capital and also celebrate another traumatized child's win. But also because it means she'll have to interact with Manon Bannerman, one of the many victors of district 1 and the sweetheart of the capital.
