Esoteric was a young girl who was born with a gift... Her gift was the power of life. She was the last of her kind and was cursed to live a life of loneliness. Over hundreds of centuries she watched over the mortal humans and the other mythical/magical creatures. Time after time she watched as the struggle between good and bad almost completely gave out. As time has moved forward less and less people are true of heart and able to remember her. Now all she has left are her many, many great grandsons. But that is a story for another time. This is the story of how a lost pantheon survives and that young girl's life from the prehistoric times until the 21st century. ⚠️This story ties in with my other story Darkness rising. Though you don't have to read this first or at all to understand Darkness Rising it does give it more depth and a bit more of a background. Plus it goes more in depth with how some of the characters from Darkness Rising are connected and related.

Months later after his rebirth as a Chthonian Godkiller, Styxx gets a warning from the powers that be. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This scene was in my head for more than a year, since I finished Styxx, before I finally put it into paper. The idea to merge a little the storylines of the Dark-Hunter main books and Chronicles of Nick was irresistible to me. I started to write it as a scene for another larger fanfic, that I've not finished... yet. Perhaps one of these days I'll get on it. The first draft, although it was more fun than this (and Urian was on it), wasn't exactly right. Then... inspiration struck. I rewrote the whole thing really fast. This was the result.

Nick sympathizes Adarian with her loss and takes her in. but living with the most dangerous demon that could destroy the whole world isn't easy.
