With the sacrifice of Elena Gilbert approaching, and the fear that the only way Bonnie could save her friend is by using the power her ancestors bestowed upon her, at the cost of her life, she performs a spell she would later come to regret.
Under the dead of night, and the glow of the half-moon shining overhead, Bonnie calls for help.
Even as she calls out, eyes set upon the moon above, and with lake-water tickling at her ankles, she doesn't know what, exactly, she needs help with.

She'd only been practicing for a few months, and locator spells still occasionally made her head ring, and nose burn with blood. So she knew, killing Klaus would kill her.
And she'd been fine with it - at least mostly - because it would mean that Elena would live, and Jeremy would have his sister, and the world would still have the good that is Bonnie's best friend.
She 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯, anyways. But as the day of the sacrifice moved closer, the deeper this cold pit within her grew, and the more afraid she'd become.
So, standing under the lit moon, and the stars that brought it company, and with cool water leeching the heat from her feet, words Bonnie didn't know found their way on her tongue, and past her trembling lips.
