Fun facts about this story: I was initially going to make this a diary story of Hannah Hoes van Buren, the wife and unofficial First Lady of Martin van Buren, but after writing a few entries as "Hannah" I found it rather boring. (No offense.) However I did borrow her nickname "Jannetje" for Johanna, as it is a nickname for that name as well.
