Ever since he was a child, Athan Reyes had always been fascinated in the mentally insane. He wanted to know why they act, think, and behave like they do. When he gets a call from almost half way across the country, he jumps at the opportunity. Now in New Salem, North Dakota, Athan finds himself working in a hospital full of crazies. Told his objective is to study one patient in particular, he is to earn everything their is to know about them-secrets that are too valuable to keep. Things get complicated when Athan finds out his patient just so happens to be deadly and on death row. Can Athan complete his task before it's too late? Or will their valued secrets die with them?

Dan Howell is a well-respected journalist for the BBC. He's currently working on a series of mini-documentaries about criminals who've done petty crimes - theft, manslaughter, stalking - when he is assigned to interview a criminal named Phil Lester. Beneath the obvious psychopathy, Dan can see kindness deep down inside Phil. Which is a problem: Phil is a serial killer, and he's on death row. Inspired by the song "A Journalist Falls in Love with Death Row Inmate #16" by Margot and the Nuclear So & So's. TRIGGER WARNINGS: Serial killers. Violent depictions of crimes. Death. A/N: I know the death penalty was banished in the UK, but this is an AU and I had to do something with this song. I had to.

The judge slammed his hammer as fast as Alice sunk to her knees in despair, having to watch Flynn dragged away. Imagine a divided world. A thin line, a fence that separated two worlds. Atlice, the city of wealth and fortune. The people who live there are spoiled rotten, they walk the streets with suits and brief cases. Food on the table, a roof of their heads, some don't need to work a day in their lives and enjoy resorts. Beyond the clean display glass, speeches, and posters praising free speech and choice there is a portal. It's where the other world lies. Past a thin fence lies the opposite. Abandoned by Atlice, taken over by gangsters. The south side of Atlice, the grey area. Men and women are thugs, the youth are delinquents. The south side, also known as the rebel side, the devil's side. Though days in Atlice are full of sunbathing and gambling, the streets are clear at night. Delinquents jump the lone and vandalize expensive property. Atlice is two worlds chained together by force, with rebels and barons. When Alice becomes friendly with a group of rebels, she starts war with her dad, playing tug of war with Flynn Weathersby who is later questioned for the murder of Chad Axton.

People bringing horses to Callie's ranch to train with Callie being known to be the best trainer anywhere in Wyoming. Cattle drives. Everyone asking Ace to be the new sheriff. Ace being overprotective with Callie, her having seizures and all. But, everyone knows that Callie won't listen and go behind your back to do what you told her not to do. Ace is wanting to propose to Callie, but doesn't know how to go about it. But, he also has the weight of possibility being sheriff on his shoulders. Just like Callie said, "Who knew what was going to be in there future." PG13 for strong language!!!
