"Most people see a 6'3" man and think of strength. I see Jack, and I think of gravity-the enemy we fight every single hour." - Anna. In our house, the heartbeat isn't a pulse; it's the rhythmic hiss-click of a mechanical ventilator. At 34, I am a wife, a nurse, and a 'Marketing Pro' assistant to a man who can only move his eyes. Jack lives with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (Type 1), a condition that has turned his tall, athletic frame into a 'bony' statue held together by plastic braces and a 5-point harness. Meet the Crew of the 'Mobile ICU': Jack (35): The 'Giant' in the specialized stroller. He's still the breadwinner, still the brilliance behind the creative firm, but now he speaks through an Eye-Gaze computer and eats through an NG tube. George (6): Who thinks the ventilator is a racing engine. Charlotte (4): Who decorates Daddy's leg braces with butterfly stickers. Louis (3): Who whimpers when the suction machine gets too loud but still tries to share his cookies with Daddy's 'robot' face. Jack isn't a memory; he's a Priority 100 mission. Between the 'rambunctious' chaos of three toddlers and the 'Mechanical Symphony' of Jack's life support, our life is a 'Full Detail' struggle to keep the man we love from fading into the machines. This isn't a story about a 'Hero's Walk' to an operating room-it's about the hero who stays, one breath at a time.

Read Description! A magical girl story that explores diversities in disabilities since I haven't seen it done before (I know there are some that feature depression /emotional type stuff but that's about it, feel free to tell me some animes that include other disabilities because I really can't find them). So I thought I might shed light on those who have disabilities since I feel like everyone deserves to be included in genres such as the "magical girl genre". It's honestly disappointing to see the same thing get used over and over so why not bring something new to the table and maybe inspire someone one day with the story? Everyone is unique in their way and I hope this story shows it correctly 😊 Art by: XenonJes_6 on YT (If this ever gets turned into a anime or a indi animation film. There'll be more content free of this book because of how short it is)

In the quiet village of Nakaswa, Kyakuwa Denis sat by the doorway of his small, crumbling house. The sun cast long shadows on the dirt floor as children ran by, laughing and playing with homemade toys. Denis watched them with longing in his big, brown eyes. His legs, thin and frail, refused to move like theirs. Denis had been born with a condition that left him lame. His mother told him often, "You are a gift from God, Denis. Your strength is not in your legs but in your heart." Yet, as the days passed, Denis struggled to believe it. At school, things were harder. The uneven paths were a challenge for Denis to navigate, and most days, he had to sit under the tree outside the classroom because there were no special accommodations for him. "To everyone at Meridian High School, fourteen-year-old Michael Vey is nothing special, just the kid who has Tourette's syndrome. But in truth, Michael is extremely special-he has electric powers. Michael thinks he is unique until he discovers that a cheerleader named Taylor has the same mysterious powers." That is the blurb of the original Michael Vey, but this fanfiction takes Richard Paul Evans's book and puts a new spin on it, changes details about certain characters, mixing up events, and drawing out deeper connections between readers and the story. I hope you'll enjoy!

When my son Nilan was eight months old, I heard words no parent is prepared for: "Your child has FOXG1 syndrome." In an instant, the life I had pictured blurred into something unknown - a path with no map, no promises, and no easy answers. But this is not a story of loss. It's a story of love, resilience, and finding joy in places I never thought to look. From sleepless nights to hard-won milestones, from quiet fears to loud celebrations, I share the truth of raising a child with a rare genetic condition - the heartbreaks, the triumphs, and the lessons that shape us. This is our journey, moving forward not in leaps, but in precious, determined steps... one step at a time.

"Music was my life-until I lost the one thing that made it beautiful." Aria Carter was a piano prodigy, destined for greatness-until a sudden illness stole her hearing. Now, the melodies that once defined her are silent, and she's convinced her dreams are over. Enter Liam Everett, the rebellious guitarist with a reputation for trouble. When their music teacher pairs them for a duet project, Aria is furious. How can she play when she can't even hear the notes? But Liam doesn't see her as broken. He teaches her to feel the music-through vibrations, through touch, through the rhythm of their heartbeats. And as their connection deepens, Aria starts to wonder: Can love be the bridge between silence and sound? Yet, Liam has his own demons. The scars on his wrists tell a story he refuses to share, and when Aria uncovers the truth, she realizes their duet might be more than just music-it might be the thing that saves them both.

Barely saved from his close brush with death, she and the rest of the family must cope with the devastating and disabling results of his illness. As time passes, we check in with his recovery and see how caring for him impacts the family. This story/play was originally written as a project for Rare Disease Day 2018, but was then abandoned. It's now been rejigged a little, and is being put up almost a year late. But hey, Rare Disease 2019 isn't that far away.
