He has loved her for fourteen years. Through dinner parties and Sunday lunches and eighteen years of friendship with the man she goes home to. Through Wednesday coffees that started as nothing and became the only part of his week that felt entirely real. Through every smile she placed a half-beat too early and every sleeve pulled down in summer and every time she said fine when she meant something else entirely. He has never said so. He has never acted on it. He has made himself - quietly, steadily, at enormous personal cost - safe ground. Because Amelia Sutton is surviving. Her life looks perfect from the outside. The Mosman house. The high-powered job. The partner who is always reasonable, always pleasant, always watching. Dom has never raised his voice. He has never needed to. He has other ways of making himself understood - ways that leave no evidence, that sound like nothing when repeated to someone else, that have taught Amelia, over sixteen years, to make herself smaller and call it fine. She is not fine. Marcus knows it. He has been watching the woman he loves disappear by degrees and he has been - because it is the only thing he is allowed to be - safe ground. Present. Steady. The one place she can put the coat down. When she finally says the thing she has never said out loud to anyone - not really, no, not for quite a long time - he receives it without pressing and asks for nothing in return. He is waiting for her to find her way back to herself. She is finding it. But Dom is always watching. And he notices everything. And the ground is shifting under all of them. * * * What It Once Was is a slow-burn romance about a woman reclaiming herself and the man who never stopped seeing who she really was. (C) Copyright. Will she be able to stand up for herself when things get tough? This is a school project that I have to do and this is how I'm presenting it. It's a slow burn story. In 1980s, when most boys his age chased dreams, Chinnaswamy, only sixteen, carried the burdens of an entire village. He sold his ancestral lands - land that generations protected - to build rice mills, irrigation canals, and small workshops so the people around him would never sleep hungry again. Jobs appeared where poverty once lived. Families survived because of him. To the villagers, he was not just a young man. He was authority. Respect followed him everywhere - but so did fear. Because Chinnaswamy believed justice should be swift. Mercy, in his eyes, weakened order. Those who opposed him learned quickly that kindness and ruthlessness lived side by side within him. Politics noticed him before he noticed politics. When he entered public life, people voted not out of persuasion, but faith. He won easily. Yet governance was never his true goal. What fascinated him was control - the doors power opened, the silence it commanded, and the way people bent without question. And slowly, like feet sinking into unseen sand, ambition turned into greed.

Between Floors - Some hospitals save lives. This one decides whose are worth saving. When a woman wakes in a hospital room she doesn't remember entering, something feels wrong. The corridors stretch too long. The staff know too much. And the children watching her from the beds around the room are the same faces she remembers from missing posters. But this hospital isn't just a place for the sick. It has floors no visitor is meant to see. Above, frightened children are kept safe from the homes that failed them. Below, men and women are locked away in the dark - criminals who vanished without a trace. Somewhere between justice and cruelty, someone is deciding who deserves mercy... and who deserves punishment. As the truth unfolds, she realizes the hospital didn't choose her by accident. Because to escape the building, she'll have to decide something terrifying: Expose the truth... or become part of it. In this hospital, the worst things don't happen in the operating rooms. They happen between floors.

"I was faithful... just not in the way they wanted me to be." Avantika was only 18 when she was married to a man nearly twice her age. Sixteen years later, she's a mother, a housewife, and emotionally abandoned. Until one day, a stranger in uniform steps into her life during a violent incident-and sees what no one else ever cared to. Inspector Aditya wasn't supposed to stay. But neither was her pain. In a world where women are silenced and sacrifice is considered virtue, this is a story of one woman's emotional rebellion - and the cost of being seen. Based on true events. This isn't a fairytale. This is the reality so many women are afraid to speak aloud. Unfaithful in love. Faithful in pain. ⚠️ This story contains themes of emotional abuse, infidelity, coercion, sexual content, and mental trauma. It is based on real-life experiences and may be triggering to sensitive readers. Reader discretion is strongly advised. Names and details have been changed for privacy and protection. This is not a romantic fantasy - it is a portrayal of survival and emotional complexity.

The Girl Who Found Her Laugh Harper was the girl everyone loved: the kind soul with the laugh that melted ice, whose life was set for a happily ever after. But on her twenty-first birthday, her parents delivered a cold, crushing truth: she was to marry Matthew, a man with a dark reputation and an even darker soul. Trapped in a quiet, loveless marriage, Harper's vibrant spirit fades until she is merely a ghost in her own life. Her only connection to the outside world becomes the apartment next door, home to a couple in crisis-and to Andrew, a familiar face from her past who sparks a forgotten hope. When Matthew's temper turns to violence, Andrew steps in, forcing a confrontation that shatters their polite facade. As secrets unravel and a past love rekindles, Harper realizes she only has one choice: sink beneath the weight of her prison or risk everything for a chance at freedom. A desperate, whispered plan for an escape is hatched, sending Harper and Andrew on a life-altering journey. But even across state lines, the past is hard to outrun. This is the story of a woman who chose life, love, and the courage to rebuild her own happily ever after, not on a promise, but on the enduring strength of her own heart.

I Got Flowers Today is a poem by Paulette Kelly focusing on domestic violence. If you have not read the poem yet, I highly suggest you do so that you understand what is going on. I had to write a story(like a short story) about the story within the poem and I got a really good grade in the class that I wrote it for and I'm extremely proud of my work so I thought I would share it here. All rights of the poem go to Paulette Kelly, who is a beautiful writer and what she writes about is very real and raw, stuff that happens every day in our world around us. If you are dealing with any kind of abuse, PLEASE seek help. Come talk to me, my door is always open, I am here for all of you. My story is based off of Paulette Kelly's poem, what I wrote is strictly inspiration off of her work. Thanks for reading!
