The silence between them hurt more than any words. Raghav closed his eyes. Guilt weighed heavily on his heart. "Hume maaf kar dijiye, Muskan." "Hum aapse pyaar nahi kar paayenge." "Aapko humse bahut achha ladka mil jayega." Muskan smiled sadly. A smile that never reached her eyes. "Shayad..." she whispered. But deep down, she knew the truth. No matter how good anyone else was... They would never be Raghav. As she looked at him standing in front of her, loving someone else with his entire heart, a thought crossed her mind. A man builds a motorcycle out of a tent in his grandfather's ghost town while something hunts through the buildings and a crowd learns everything by watching. He almost makes it out. He stops to use the bathroom. The bike is gone when he comes back. Someone offers him his own vape. The key and the title are still in his watch pocket because he put them there before anyone knew to look. What follows is a high school quad in Santa Rosa, a thousand small obstructions, a tunnel beneath the town, a dangerous road, and highway patrol running parallel to an escape that may or may not be completed.
