One day Newt gets a text from a stranger, curious, he texts the person back, he doesnt have much else to do than work. Teresa and Thomas are good friends but not the type to always hang out and talk. Teresa give Thomas Newts number without knowing who it is she just says "Text this person, you'll be happy you did" Newt -17, works at a coffee shop with his best friend Teresa for extra money and goes to high school, struggling to be happy and find love, has insomnia and writes to keep him busy during the nights so he doesnt think to much. Thomas - 16, goes to a coffee shop everyday after school to avoid going home as much as possible so he doesnt have to be around his abusive parents. Thomas has depression and anxiety, insomnia,afraid of the world. Loves books and has had an eye on Newt for awhile now. When newt was a mere 15 and thomas 14, newt confessed how he felt to his best friend Thomas Edison on his birthday, however, not feeling the same way Thomas asks newt to promise him something, "Promise me," (...) "promise me you won't like me as more than a friend, ever." 2 years pass, they are both in eleventh grade, Thomas is 16 and newt is 17, and Thomas finds that he broke his own promise. "He had been so stupid. That was the night he knew he liked newt. It happened right after the boy ran off. Thomas was left standing there, wondering why his heart hurt so much. That was when he realized his mistake. But he promised newt. And so he never said anything."
