Some of my poems are downright dark, thus placing them in my more balanced story or poetry log won't work without driving me crazy (yes I know my ocd is showing, sorry)

Mental illness is something that stalks and feeds on millions of people. Every day there are people struggling to continue, recover, stop harming, and eat. A disorder is not something that can be understood or removed as easily as one believes. This story might give you a better insight on one of the most obscure morbid places in the human mind. This story follows the disordered life of eighteen year old Rose Johansson who struggles with self-harm and EDNOS, an eating disorder. This is a fictional, but based on true events, story meant to connect with readers who struggle from the same disorders, and for readers who want to know what it feels like to be disordered.

Painless coping is something that all living things should be taught to utilize. Unfortunately so many were and are not. For me, poetry is my painless coping and continues to steer me away from my self destruction. These are some of my first poems and I hope to grow as a poet in the future. Melody is the quiet girl in class who always gets A's on her tests. She has grown use to a life which consists of a sister who despises their relation to one another, parents who are never there for her, and bullies who seem to always be there. Her life changes forever though when all that she knows is ripped apart, and it all started when HE came into town...Will she finally know why she feels like she never has belonged in this life, or will the darkness consume her once and for all?

The world around her was slowly falling away. All safety, security, comfort in the known, vanished before her. A move across the country, her imminent graduation and the subsequent end of her childhood all lingered, pushing the sands of an hourglass to the other side faster than she could keep up. The only way to maintain some degree of sanity was to regain control of the only thing she could, her body.

This poem is about my ongoing struggle with eating, and when I wrote this poem I was just starting to realize that I had a problem.
