Tick tock. Tick tock. Ema sat in a solitude silence, the repeating rythym of her clock echoing in her ears. She sighed deeply and inhaled the musty air through her nostrils. Time seemed to move so slowly and sluggishly onwards. 10 minutes crept to an hour, one hour turned into an hour and a half, but to Ema it felt like an eternity as she twisted and turned in her bed. Eventually, she got fed up and peeled off the covers as if it were a layer of hot steaming lava and stepped onto the cool floor beneath her feet. The coolness of the floor instantly made her feel more awake as she walked towards the window and peered out of it with adoration. 'It's so beautiful' she whispered in awe as she stared wide eyed at the starry sky before her, just like a little child fasinated by the front of a toy shop window. She quickly pulled a jumped over her head and slipped into some jeans as she reached for her slippers. When she was a child, she would always gaze out the window and look at the stars when she couldn't sleep. She cauctiously grasped the handle of her door and opened it slowly as she stepped into the deserted corridor. It was strange for her at first as she wandered down the empty hall, as none of her 13 brothers could be seen. She could almost feel sadness fill her heart as she remembered her childhood; but a small smile appeared on her lips when she remembered the loving family she shared this wonderful place with. Ema slowly made her way down the flight of stairs, the gentle sound of her footsteps was the only thing that broke the silence as she made her way to the bottom of the stairs. She released herself into the cool midnight Autumn breeze. The breeze tickled her rosy cheeks as a smile curved onto her lips. She gazed up again at the sky that she adored so dearly. She had fond memories with her Papa with them going star gazing during her childhood. She was so distracted by it that she froze when she faintly heard someone speaking from the distance...
