About a kid who gets bullied

A poem about reaching out to the survivors of bullying, the one's who feel alone in their struggles. If you are being bullied or have been in the past, just know that you are not alone. There are so many of us, including me. Fortunately, my emotional scars have had time to heal. If you are being bullied, please reach out for help and although it is difficult (trust me, I know). It is possible to find help from those who love you. You might even find help in the most unexpected places, from those who make it their mission to be compassionate towards others. Just know that negative feelings and attitudes do not last forever. In life, change is the one of the only constant things. Know that even of you are not okay your life is still worth living. The truth is that we've all dealt with some form of bullying in our lives or have witnessed it first hand. And it's something that's so common and yet we still are too afraid to say something. But it's not about how badly you were hurt by the bully, or how badly they treated you. It's about what your attitude is towards them. This short poem is about a victim writing to their bully in the form of SLAM poetry about how they feel. Though it's not only a letter to their bully, but it's a letter to all others who have or are still experiencing bullying.

"To the ones that don't fit in the body they came in, Or are defined by a name that causes foreheads to wrinkle with judgement, To the ones who are mocked for having parents that worked hard to put us in school, To the ones who hide their home-cooked lunches because others disrespect the spices that carry decades of tradition, To the students that are forced to eat meals alone - You can sit with us." Some kids are always getting bullied. Sometimes its because they are "fat" or to skinny. Some kids get bullied because they think they are ugly, Nobody is ugly. Bulling is just terrible no matter who is doing it and no matter what type of bulling it is, Cyber bulling or Other types of bulling. Some kids end their lives when they get bullied. Bullies Only bully because they were hurt too.

People can be mean. You know what? To be honest, people can be horrible. It's disgusting to hear what us girls say to each other, or do to each other. And I know what it's like to be bullied, its horrible. Every day you have to worry, "What're they going to do to me today...?" And it's HORRIBLE. It's high time we all teamed up and work together to make the world a happier place for everyone. I'll never forget how horrible it is to be taunted, mocked, pushed, shoved, yelled at, and to be called such ugly words. Let's raise awareness, and work together to make a difference.
