After all, we don't quite know why he was specifically the "Angel Of Music" or why he chose Christine amongst all the other talented singers. The mermaids are also trying to figure out the mysterious Merman Chamber and it's purpose, but they know one thing: it cannot be fully activated if the pod is to return.
