Gale has volunteered for Peeta Mellark to compete in the 74th annual Hunger Games with Katniss Everdeen after she volunteered for her sister. Katniss is anything except happy about it due to the concern she has for her family left alone at home. Will she be able to abide this and work with him in the games, or will she leave him and fight alone? Does Gale feel something more than best friends for Katniss? Does she feel something more for him? To Katniss, it doesn't matter anymore under their circumstances, but Gale might think a little bit differently . . .

A few years post-MJ, Gale and Katniss meet in District Twelve. I'm trying to stay true to character and canon here and come to terms with what happened between Katniss and Gale. Writing this story helped me do that. I'd love to know what you all think.
