Story Description - Between Seoul and Summer
Between Seoul and Summer is a coming-of-age novel set in modern-day South Korea, told in a gentle, emotional Korean style. The story follows Min-jun, a quiet Korean boy who prefers observing life over participating in it. Living in Seoul, he spends his days drifting between school, sketchbooks, and the calm flow of the Han River, unsure of who he is meant to become.
Everything begins to change when Ethan, a warm and curious American exchange student, enters his life. Through their unlikely friendship, Min-jun is introduced to new perspectives, cultures, and emotions he has never allowed himself to explore. Alongside Korean classmates, late-night street food, hidden cafés, and glowing city lights, Min-jun learns what it means to connect, to dream, and to step out of the shadows.
Blending Korean everyday life with international friendship, the novel explores themes of identity, youth, belonging, cultural difference, and quiet love-all set against the vivid backdrop of Seoul. It is a soft, heartfelt story about growing up, finding courage, and discovering that sometimes, the most important journeys happen without ever leaving home.
