A deep sigh sounded through the phone as my father responded, "I'm marrying a woman called Miwa Asahina, we'll be working out something for you and Ema to go live with your thirteen step-brothers." His response was calm beyond all reason but I couldn't withhold my shock. "You're getting married?" I practically screamed in reply. Eyes and mouth frozen wide open I stood still in the street, white as chalk, and staring straight at the house I called home. There was no way in hell I wasn't dreaming. This wasn't real.
