On Christmas Eve, a stranger steps off a late bus into a town that's already given up for the night. Mercy, Missouri isn't waiting for miracles. It's waiting out the winter-nursing old griefs, unspoken regrets, and the kind of loneliness that gets louder during the holidays. Inside a nearly closed bar, a handful of tired souls gather for warmth, coffee, and company. Over the course of one long, quiet night, a few words are spoken. A few truths are faced. No one is saved. Nothing is fixed. But something shifts. The Night the Light Stayed On is a bittersweet Christmas story about small mercies, human connection, and the kind of grace that doesn't arrive with angels or songs-only with listening, presence, and a light left on when it matters most.

When Lily Harper discovers a dusty hatbox hidden in her late grandmother's flat, she expects old photographs or trinkets. What she finds instead changes everything - hundreds of unfinished love letters written for strangers who could never find the courage to say what mattered most. For forty years, Margaret Harper ran a secret letter-writing service. Confessions, apologies, last words, first loves - the things people never said aloud. And now, with thirty letters left, she wants Lily to finish her work. The problem Lily is good with people, not with words. The solution Oliver Ward - a brilliant, infuriating, emotionally allergic English teacher who once knew her grandmother and would absolutely prefer not to be involved. But Margaret Harper was nothing if not persistent. And soon Lily and Oliver find themselves reading the lives of strangers, rewriting heartbreaks and healing old wounds, one letter at a time. Their first mission Help an eighty-two-year-old widower tell the woman he loved before he met his wife that she mattered. As Lily and Oliver work through each confession, they're pulled into stories of regret, longing, hope, and second chances. And somewhere between the ink and the honesty, they begin confronting the truths they've been avoiding in their own lives. What begins with a box of forgotten letters slowly becomes something neither of them expected - a journey of healing, connection, and the possibility of love in the most unlikely place. Some letters change the lives of the people who receive them. Some change the lives of the people who write them. Return to Sender is a tender, slow-burn romance about words unsent, love unspoken, and the courage it takes to finally say what you feel.

Stories always teach us a lesson which is why you will often hear the moral of the stories highlighted by our parents/grandparents. Stories give us hope; an emotion that is felt from within and reminds us that something good definitely comes out of the most difficult situations. As time passed by, this tradition of telling stories was taken over by other more modern things such as digital pictures. Nowadays not many kids listen to stories but instead are glued on to ipads/iphones and android phones. It is fascinating to see that in various rural areas they have used various props such as puppets and stones to narrate stories, and to our bewilderment they are mind-blowing. Frankly speaking, I miss all those nights when I used to eagerly listen to all those stories and anxiously wait for the end. In fact, I wouldn't mind listening to them again as they take me back to my childhood. So let's explore the hidden realms of storytelling with these heartfelt stories. After receiving a lot of appreciation for my written stories, I have created Heartfelt Stories which is my first eBook of 5 lovely stories. Each one of these narrates the protagonist's journey, overcoming difficult milestones to manifest a beautiful life. Soon, my second eBook will be launched with more fascinating stories to touch your hear!

Skipping Stones, Skipping Dreams by Daron Thompson is a heart-wrenching urban fiction story that explores the life of Lisa McKenna, a ten-year-old girl living in a crime-ridden neighborhood. The story is a raw and emotional look at the devastating impact of poverty, violence, and systemic neglect on vulnerable children. Lisa's only escape from her harsh reality is her close friendship with Tia Simmons. Together, the girls find moments of happiness skipping rope and dreaming of a better future. Their innocent dreams are shattered when Tia is killed in a drive-by shooting, leaving Lisa alone and overwhelmed by grief. Without Tia, Lisa spirals into a deep depression, struggling to find meaning and comfort in a world that has taken everything from her. The once-joyful skipping rope becomes a haunting symbol of her lost childhood and growing hopelessness. Lisa's relationship with her overworked mother, Shanice, is strained, with Shanice too exhausted from working multiple jobs to fully notice her daughter's pain. The emotional distance between them only deepens as Lisa continues to withdraw. At school, her teacher, Mr. Hamilton, recognizes the signs of her distress but is powerless to help, trapped in a system that fails to support children like Lisa. As the weight of her grief becomes unbearable, Lisa returns to the park where she and Tia once played. There, in a final act of desperation, she uses the skipping rope to end her life. The story ends with a haunting image of Lisa's shoes gently swaying in the wind, symbolizing the tragic loss of a young life. Skipping Stones, Skipping Dreams is a poignant exploration of mental health, grief, and the failures of society to protect its most vulnerable members. Daron Thompson's powerful narrative draws attention to the emotional and psychological toll of growing up in an environment marked by violence and poverty, making this story both heartbreaking and thought-provoking.
