No longer us A poetry collection by A. Esmee This book began as a conversation I was too afraid to have out loud. No longer us is a collection of poems I wrote while trying to understand what happens after love fades. It's about holding on too tightly, letting go too late, and learning slowly, how to stand on your own after being part of something that once felt like everything. These poems come from the quiet hours, the unanswered messages, the memories that show up uninvited. They are fragments of love letters, goodbyes that were never spoken, and the questions we ask when we're left alone with ourselves. If you've ever loved deeply, lost quietly, or found pieces of yourself in the wreckage of a relationship, this book is for you. It's not just about heartbreak. It's about healing, too.

This poem is a tribute to the unseen workers who quietly shape our world with their hands, sweat, and dreams. It honours the silent heroes who rise before dawn, carrying the weight of tomorrow while the world sleeps, building cities, feeding families, and paving paths of hope. Through vivid imagery and gentle reflection, Hands That Build Tomorrow reminds us to respect and recognise the dignity of labour, seeing every calloused hand as a mark of courage and resilience.

A fragile soul does not break-it sings. Through verses woven with longing, silence, and fleeting light, this collection captures the tender echoes of a heart that has loved, lost, and risen again. Each poem is both a confession and a mirror, an invitation to step into a world where pain turns into beauty, and vulnerability becomes strength. If you've ever felt too much, too deeply-these echoes are for you.

Fall of egoism (poem) ------------------------------ Now I could hear Your soul flying away to capture another world. Once you considered me Your soulmate, Now you made my mind dead. Thou art alive still in my blood. Thou had erected a monument of love in my heart, Unknown to anybody. Your agressiveness to capture my mind and to start an intrigue with my heart is still I think was your disguise. My soul itself is an allegory of the Spritual conflict between good and evil. And now I lost my sense. My heart is going through a conflict between sensuousness and luxury Of being adored by your love. But in vain,Iam helpless. You are in a residue of love. I could see your eyes which prompted me to do the sin, will once pray for my pity, and could hear your voice which uplifted me to paradise, will be in a mourning tune, and I could make you and me to lost our paradise. . . . Here ensues, a brief summary of the plot, and an anthropological tracing of how the tale was born . . . . . . A lover of the English language, of all things, whilst I was looking-up the etymology of the word / interjection 'boo' I came across this passage written in the late 19th c., by Walter W. Skeat, which not only creates the opening of my story, but also encapsulates it's intended moral, & effect: "To be able to say Bo! (sic) to a goose is to be not quite destitute of courage, to have an inkling of spirit, and was probably in the first instance used of children. A little boy who comes across some geese suddenly will find himself hissed at immediately, and a great demonstration of defiance made by them, but if he can pluck up heart to cry 'bo!' loudly and advance upon them, they will retire defeated. The word 'bo' is clearly selected for the sake of the explosiveness of its first letter and the openness and loudness of its vowel" Such, is the idea of this story: a young boy, who is unpopular, and habitually shy, at last plucks up his courage, and his first act of retribution, is to crie 'Boo!' at a gaggle of geese; he then proceeds to crie 'Boo!' in several other tricky situations, each time, becoming stronger in heart, and taller in courage.
