An Enjoltaire fic where in a soul's first life their soulmate's last words are written on their wrist. There will be a plot twist that allows the story a happy ending, so this isn't an angst fic. Somehow Grantaire and Enjolras have survived the Barricade; still very much in love with Enjolras, but not knowing that he lives, Grantaire is heartbroken. Until Lily comes, a mysterious young woman who tells him of Enjolras' escape. And despite the fact that Enjolras seems not to care for him, Grantaire keeps hoping that his deepest wish and Lily's promise will turn true.

Les Miserables AU that they are in a hospital... Based on my own inpatient experience and on Red Band Society a bit, as well as a few movies that involve hospital inpatient. I'll post the characters and their illnesses in the first "chapter" so enjoy thots Trigger warning for death, suicide attempts, eating disorders, and other illnesses(including, but not limited to- cancer, spinal problems, neurological problems, hypochondriacs, etc.) Also, implied child abuse.

Grantaire doesn't really know when he fell for the man who hated him, but somewhere along the line, the boundaries of friendship and relationships got mixed, and now he is at a loss. Should he make a move? Does he stand a chance? If Enjolras didn't return his feelings, can they continue to be friends? Or as close to a friend as Enjolras would consider him anyways.... A frozen lake. A truth. A risk. It had been a year since the Incident with Grantaire, and Enjolras wasn't any closer to getting over it. And neither was Grantaire. Enjolras would've done anything to see Grantaire again and Grantaire the same. And yet, on a cold week in January, both of them will deeply regret their choices.

Enjolras knows it's the end of the line when his friends have all been killed and he alone remains, standing defiant against the National Guard. He was prepared to die for his friends and countrymen. Of course, he was joined by Grantaire in his last moments, holding his hand as they were both shot. Enjolras knew he was dead. That was, until he wakes up in a bed that is not his, in a room that is not his, and in a time period that is definitely not his. His old friends are alive and well, but Enjolras seems to be the only one who remembers their failed revolution. Or: Enjolras is shot at the barricades on that day in 1832, but wakes up in the future with no memorizes of a life there.

//Warning-Alcoholism, self harm, eating disorders, etc.// warnings before each chapter - Grantaire has a drinking and self harming problem that had been plaguing him since age 18 can't stand being more than a week without some way of self destruction despite using whatever affordable resources he could find. . Enjolras is unsuccessfully recovering from an eating disorder that he's had since he was 17 and he can't seem to dig himself out of the hole he's fallen so deep into even after being in and out of clinics and therapy .. Now at age 21 they have to learn how to help themselves. - (this is incredibly angsty warning)
