Description "We Have Lives to Live" is a powerful poem about the unfair expectations placed on young girls from childhood. While girls are often told to cook, clean, serve, and prepare themselves for marriage, boys are sometimes allowed to sit back and do nothing simply because they are boys. The poem challenges the belief that a girl's greatest purpose is to become a wife and please her husband. It reminds us that before she becomes someone's wife, she is a person with dreams, ambitions, talents, and a future of her own. This poem calls for a different kind of upbringing-one where both boys and girls learn responsibility, household duties, respect, independence , and compassion. Marriage should be a partnership, not a lifetime sentence of service for one person. Girls deserve education. Girls deserve dreams. Girls deserve choices. And boys deserve to be taught responsibility. Because a girl's life does not begin when she gets married. She already has a life to live.

As a fellow LGBT member I've come across a lot of homophobic people, and really it irks me. I wrote this cause i personally belive each and every person out there deserves to be treated equally irrespective of what sexuality or race they are cause at the end of the day WE ALL HUMANS I'd appreciate it if people would stop being judgmental. Sexually orientated people are HUMANS TOO! TRANSGENDER people are HUMANS! Stop treating sexually orientated people less than what they deserve!

"Beyond Reflections: Unveiling Authenticity" is a compelling and heartfelt story that follows Malik, a transgender black man, as he navigates the complexities of his identity, mental health struggles, and the pursuit of acceptance. Set against the backdrop of a supportive HBCU community, Malik's journey unfolds with love, resilience, and self-discovery. Facing the challenges of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), gender dysphoria, and chronic fatigue, Malik strives to be the best person he can be while maintaining a loving relationship with Maya, his understanding girlfriend. However, his journey takes an unexpected turn when he returns home for the summer, only to confront the harsh reality of his parents' transphobia and their insistence on forcing him to wear girl clothes. As Malik grapples with his parents' rejection and the pressure to conform, he discovers a deeper truth within himself. The strains on his mental health lead to the emergence of potential split personalities, further complicating his journey of self-acceptance and authenticity. With the support of Maya, his younger sister Keisha, and a network of LGBTQ+ organizations and allies, Malik delves into therapy and self-reflection to make sense of his fragmented identity. "Beyond Reflections: Unveiling Authenticity" is a story of resilience, love, and the pursuit of self-acceptance against all odds. It explores the complexities of intersectional identities and the struggles faced by transgender individuals within unsupportive family environments. Through Malik's journey, the narrative sheds light on the importance of building supportive communities and finding inner strength to embrace one's true self. With themes of mental health, gender identity, and the power of chosen family, this compelling story will captivate audiences as they join Malik on his transformative journey towards self-discovery, acceptance, and the quest to be the best person he can be.
