What if Peeta and Katniss's "love" wasn't real at all? In this everthorne fan fic, Katniss realizes that what she has been telling Peeta for years, really, is a lie she tells herself... Will Katniss and Gale find each other after all?

This story is the direct epilogue to "Uncovered Passions," but it's ultimately my dream ending for Katniss and Gale, and it's how I envision their future to any story where they end up together. So you don't have to read UP to follow this. All you really need to know is that Katniss and Gale got lost in the woods where the fell in love and conceived a child, and eventually came out and helped lead the rebellion to victory. Their son was born the day the Rebellion ended. His name is Reed Milo Hawthorne, and our story is picking up three and a half years after he was born.

How the Hunger Games could (should ;-) ) have ended if Katniss ended up with Gale. (There are many more parts to come)

Gale has volunteered for Peeta Mellark to compete in the 74th annual Hunger Games with Katniss Everdeen after she volunteered for her sister. Katniss is anything except happy about it due to the concern she has for her family left alone at home. Will she be able to abide this and work with him in the games, or will she leave him and fight alone? Does Gale feel something more than best friends for Katniss? Does she feel something more for him? To Katniss, it doesn't matter anymore under their circumstances, but Gale might think a little bit differently . . .

Set in a distopian future where 24 children are sent forth into the annual Hunger Games as punishment for the districts part in the war. When it comes time to reap the tributes for the 74th Hunger Games fear looms over the districts as 12 year old Primrose Everdeen is reaped as the female tribute.
