mrsGenshini
Lyra was never meant to wake up in Windstadt. One moment, she was in her own world, lying on her bed. The next, she opened her eyes beneath a foreign sky, in a land of knights, ancient magic, and shadows that moved like living nightmares.
A land she knew only as fiction. And at the center of it all stood Valir.
The strongest knight of Windstadt. A man feared on the battlefield and trusted by an entire city to stand between them and the darkness. He was supposed to be nothing more than a character from a world that should not exist.
But Valir is real.
So is the Void hunting her.
So are the dreams that pull her toward an abyss she cannot understand.
Lyra knows she should find a way back to her own world. Not because leaving is easy. Not because there is nothing here holding her back. But because the longer she stays in Windstadt, the more danger seems to follow her.
The Void is hunting her. And if it reaches the people who have taken her in, if it hurts the ones she has started to care for, if it turns its darkness toward Valir, she knows she would never forgive herself.
So she tells herself that going home is the right thing to do. The only thing to do.
Even if every day beside him makes that choice feel more impossible.
Because Valir looks at her like she is no longer just a problem to solve.
Because every time danger finds her, he is there.
Because somewhere between fear, blood, secrets, and stolen moments, the world she was desperate to escape begins to feel more like home. More like the only place where someone is afraid to lose her.
As ancient truths awaken and the Void grows stronger, Lyra must face the question she fears most.
If a way home is found... will she still want to take it?
