It was close, for Caleb and his entourage, time was of the essence. This time, it could not have been any closer. Using her supernatural abilities, she begins doing odd jobs for people, and is hired by Tony Bizzare, the town's resident con man! He can only be up to mischief, will he get Julie out of her predicament, or will he lead her further down the wrong path? a/n: So this started as a short story for the side hustle contest, but it ended up turning into more fantasy than experience. Even so, I'm proud of it so I decided to publish it anyway.

Pretty basic and common I must say, but where's the fun when there were such no drama in the story. About what the character would feel when she suddenly turn into human. And to her partner with the mischievous smirk that will always she have faith into.

In a valley along the river to the waterfall pond, there was a hidden village. Not many have found it, and most believe it doesn't exist. No one knows of anyone who ever actually lived there. When people do mysteriously disappear into the so-called haven, no one ever hears from them again, and everyone considers them dead. Only one brave person went there in hopes of fixing their corrupt world and finding safety, only to find out the town's secret of why people never went in and out of that town.

The horizon is basically defined as the junction between the heaven and the earth. A border that separates the celestial from the earthly. The line between the sky and the ground. The horizon shows us the different contrasts of life. The high and the low. The divine and the mortal. It shows the totality of life, which is not purely of spirit and of flesh but rather of both. Every short story written in this anthology expresses their own unique identity and flavour, showing the different tapestry of life. Just as how the horizons emphasise the contrasts of nature, this short story anthology tries to demonstrate the diversity not only of genre or setting, but of themes and aspects of human life. The contrasts of the personal and the political, of romance and friendship, of the sacred and the secular. Life is like a collection of short stories. Each page turns into a different dimension and a different setting. No two short stories, just like the real life they represent, are alike.

Stories spun from ink and survival. Some dreamlike, some heavy, all carrying pieces of a restless mind. Read, and maybe you'll find your own reflection in the fragments.

A turtle finds a magical light that brightens his world, but then it goes dark.

She spent 700 years in captivity at the bottom of the lake, filled with hatred and thirst for revenge. The Varangian princess Elmede did not even know that salvation would come to her in the person of an undergraduate student at the Belarusian State University named Yana, who came to visit the lake with her friends one late Spring. This piece is based on the legends about the Sviciaz lake near Navaghudak, Belarus.

Billy was raised along side the Royals--better known as the ones who were Fairytales--but she herself never was one. She's a Renegade, or a Fable. With her older brother and younger sister, they make the next three billy goats. Her sister, though, has thought it would be a great idea to fall in love with the other half to their fable--the troll who lives under the bridge. And when Billy's sister gets kidnapped by the Nameless--those who aren't recognized by the fairytale council--the troll is very forceful when he says he's coming to help find her. Along with two other Renegades, they go searching, but what happens in the end is nothing to what they thought.
