In the next episode of Finding Carter, Max has been in jail for a week. Taylor has been moping about Max "rotting" in jail. Carter has been trying to make Taylor see her perspective of things, but Taylor doesn't want to hear it. Lori has been fighting to stay together as she's lost custody of Ben and no one knows where he is. Max has been trying to cope and come to peace with himself as he replays the words Crash has told him. David has been freaking out as he tries to find his son. Elizabeth has been trying hard to keep her emotions in check as she tries to take care of their family. Gabe comforts Bird as she contemplates if getting the abortion was such a good thing or not. Grant has been snooping around in listening to everyone and putting pieces together as he tries to find out what all has been going down with the teenagers that the adults don't know about. Picks up after 2x20, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, when Crash calls Carter and she doesn't answer. It turns out that Crash called because he wanted to surprise Carter by coming to visit her back at home, but his plan derails when she isn't at the Wilson's, but at Jared's.

What would've happened if Crash shot Taylor instead of Max? I got this idea when I watched the Afterbuzz Show for the episode 2x22, "The Corrections" and they were making predictions about if Crash hadn't shot Max, but Taylor. Credit goes to them for coming up with the idea, I just wrote it out how I would envision it if it ever happened.
