Nobody remembers the old clans. Instead, two new clans have been born from the ashes of the past: ColdClan, the sturdy and kind mountain dwellers, and HeatClan, the lithe cats living in the exposed plain below. For the previous year, the two clans have been in turmoil. StarClan has not sent any signs to either clan for as long as some can remember, and the threats of predators that each clan faces grow more intense with every passing heartbeat. Skypaw and Sunpaw, two sisters living in ColdClan, have found threats in those they thought they could trust. Their bond as siblings grows stronger with each day as those around them begin to betray them. But when four kits are born, two in ColdClan and two in HeatClan, the cats begin to think that StarClan still has hope for them. Can Skypaw and Sunpaw figure out the mystery surrounding their clan? Lightningstar has created the fourth clan needed in the forest. Her destiny is finally complete. However, some cats question StarClans choice of allowing there to be another clan amongst them. Her leadership will be tested against all odds, the warrior code shall be broken, and revenge will burn through the forest, as the final battle takes place. Life will be lost, and an old life will be brought back to the forest in the dance of fire and frost.

1 moon after Firestar's death he is sent back to the forest by StarClan. He is reborn as a kit with all his memories intact and a mysterious prophecy. How will his clanmates react to seeing their beloved leader again.

The five Clans have been settled by their territories around the lake for season upon season since the days of the legendary ThunderClan leader Firestar. However, Twolegs have been pressing in and building more dens on the lakeshore, forcing the Clans to retreat further and further away from their homes.
