Sideways is my sequel to Wendelin Van Draanen's novel, Flipped. All credits go to Wendelin Van Draanen. --- After the sycamore tree, life didn't go back [to what you can call 'normal'] for Juli and Bryce. Of course things need to change, but not in the way you want it to, not right side up. I guess you can say things are sideways at the moment. Juli and Bryce have finally reached their last year at Mayfield Junior High. But this year isn't even close to ending. Juli reunites with an old friend, as Bryce meets a new one. As things change for the newly-teens, feelings do as well; along with thoughts and points of view. This is a short story I had to write for school. Maybe you'll like it, Rapunzles evil now. There is a bit of gore, so fair warning.

She's just like every other teenager; dreary, tired, and not looking forward to her last year of high school. Jefferson high is a lot of things but most importantly it's boringly normal. Eleanors used to the same people she's known since diapers and honestly she never really connected with any of them. She floats by in the craziness that is high school except everything seems to change with the appearance of a new student. With the appearance of Anton Atkins the whole towns seems to turn upside down. As normal as he seems El just can't seem to brush off the oddity of his appearance with the new events taking over her town. She can't help but question if she's going crazy or simply losing her mind.
