Evelyn tells her their story and trains her from the earliest age to run, climb, fight, and also jump on and off moving trains. She raises Astrid with the idea that at age 16, she will join Dauntless and secretly look out for Tobias, whom Evelyn mostly lost sight of. Evelyn sees it as the only way to reconnect with her long-lost son, wishing he would join the boiling revolution among the Factionless. Except that obviously, things don't always go to plan. And infiltering the Dauntless under a false identity while under the terrifying scrutiny of Dauntless leaders is a near-suicide mission. ⚠️ TW: dark themes, such as domestic abuse, bullying, suicide, abusive authority figures, violence, drugs, sexual encounters... but highly graphic scenes are kept to a bare minimum to respect the tone of the original series ⚠️

This story was kind of created with the help of uquizzes and my and my friends' result. The setting is medieval and we each got a different role. A skeptical follower. A vigilant Shepard. A disheartened poet. And a dutiful knight. They all experience different lives but also share the same fate. They can't change the fact that their paths will cross and that they'll experience the same feelings. Hatred. Friendship. Hurt. Love. Sadness. Resignation. Joy. What will their story be like?

What if Ash is a coma? This would explain why Ash and his friends don't age. If this is true, Ash's story could restart again and introduce characters that have not made an appearance yet in the anime. If they did, what would they be in Ash's life? Luck was so hard to come by, the odds never quite rolled like you think they should. I left that arena alive...somehow. By the skin of my teeth.
