I wrote this a while back after I saw the movie "Gia", which is based on a true story of the late model Gia Carangi. She was one of the best models and everyone wanted her. She met a girl and she fell in love. She had a lot going for her, but then she got caught up in drugs and well, you can figure out what happened.

This is a free verse poem. Author's Note / Description: "Learn how to fly" is a poem about difference, identity, and self-acceptance. Using wings as a metaphor for individuality, it explores the feelings of being left behind or broken in a world that celebrates only "normal." The narrator watches others thrive while hiding their own uniqueness, afraid of rejection. But in finding others like themselves - equally "broken" yet equally strong - they learn that flying isn't about being perfect, it's about embracing who you are. This is a fusion poem with many poems in this poem. Author's Note / Description: "You Have a Choice" is a meta-poem that explores poetry itself, while also reflecting on life, identity, and freedom. Beginning with playful rhymes, the poem experiments with different forms-mentioning acrostics, haikus, sonnets, and limericks-before ultimately rejecting strict poetic rules.
